ULT AG introduces adsorption dryer ULT Dry-Tec® ULT AG introduces a completely new device for air drying. The adsorption dryer ULT-Dry-Tec® was developed for process air dehumidification at dew point temperatures of down to -60°C (-76° F). ACHEMA 2015 ends on a high note The initial feedback received by the organizers of ACHEMA 2015 paints a very favorable picture: positive event statistics, a long list of announcements on business deals and a lot of work for the sales organizations in the weeks ahead to follow up on new leads. ACHEMA attracted slightly more exhibitors this year. Visitor numbers were almost exactly the same as for the previous ACHEMA show. 166,444 trade visitors from around the world made their way to the Frankfurt exhibition grounds on June 15th – 19th, 2015. 3,813 exhibitors from 56 countries put the latest innovations for the chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries on display. ACHEMA 2012 attracted 166,447 visitors and 3,773 exhibitors. The extensive range of new products and initial product introductions underline the importance of ACHEMA as the “world innovation summit”. Unloading, palletizing and sampling This so-called ‘Bags handling line’, has been developed by Copal Development B.V., in close cooperation with Symach B.V. and Wemo-Techniek. The system unloads jute bags from containers effortlessly, detects humidity, takes samples of the content and automatically palletizes the bags with a high stacking quality. Next to that, rejected bags, due to humidity or damage, will be automatically separated from the line. DEPRAG explains waste heat recovery using an ORC mini power generator Surplus heat from industrial processes is by and large an untapped resource. A joint cooperation project between the University of Bayreuth, the East Bavarian Technical College Amberg-Weiden and the company DEPRAG SCHULZ GMBH u. CO. has developed a new and innovative ORC mini power generator – supported by the Bavarian Research Foundation. The project partners have succeeded in efficiently converting existing waste heat into electrical energy. The basic idea: ”In many industrial activities process gas is lost into the atmosphere. Background The milk powder manufacturing industry is a growing industry. Prices keep on rising due to increased demand from growing economies in Asia. At some point in the production process any additives the customer wants can be added to the agitating milk powder. During this production process dust extraction is a very important issue. Challenge In the food processing industry, the filtration techniques and the hygiene requirements are often very hard to combine. The explosion protection requirements are often very high in the milk powder and sugar processing which make the installation very complex to maintain clean. The extracted substances are extremely hygroscopic which makes the filtration very hard and the filtration elements need to be replaced or cleaned often due to the dry medium that is being processed. Climeon has with its Climeon Ocean enabled highly efficient, profitable production of electricity, using hot water. With more than half of the world’s energy wasted as ”cold heat” or hot water there are vast market and environmental potentials. On the 26th of May Climeon AB and Deprag Schulz GmbH u. Co. signed a manufacturing agreement for a next generation turbine generator called C3-GET-R160. The new turbine generator system will enable further improvements to the already world class efficiency of the Climeon Ocean solution. The deal includes a production agreement allowing for large scale manufacturing and global deployment. The Climeon Ocean system uses low temperatures between 70 degrees and 120 degrees Celsius and converts this energy into electricity. At 90 degrees Celsius more than 10% of the heat is turned into electricity witch is more than 50% of the theoretical max. ”With this cooperation we expect a successful enlargement of our existing

AVA combines experience with innovation The AVA Huep GmbH & Co. KG has successfully brought a horizontal batch dryer into service. Due to the product characteristics the dryer is made from Hastelloy for the product contacted parts. Filter cakes have their special characteristics and can pass a doughy-phase or generate massive wall coatings while drying. The specifically adapted agitator geometry of AVA dryers and the close gap between mixing element and drum wall ensure the heat transfer between product and heated drum wall and additionally prevent the formation of wall coatings. This machine continues the successful cooperation with a well-known manufacturer of plant protection products. The modified dryer of the HTC-VT-series convinces at low heating temperatures and very good vacuum with an increased evaporation performance and therefore shortened drying times.
