Fluid bed equipment design
Do you want to learn more about fluid bed equipment design and what options it allows in terms of dust removal and material recycling, feed and product discharge, or residence time and residence time distribution?
Lecture on fluid bed design and operation
In his lecture on "Fluid bed granulation/coating - equipment design and operations", Didier Schons, Glatt Ingenieurtechnik, will explain these topics, presenting the differences between batchwise and continuous operation, as well as various aspects for particle and product flow. You will learn more about open and closed process gas systems as well as about the premises for the use of multi-purpose plants.
The explanations will be illustrated by means of selected case studies.
More information on the full event of the Seydlitz Engineering Courses can be found through the link under ’More information’.
Outcome
Through alternating presentations, exercises and plenum discussions participants will acquire solid basic knowledge of fluid bed technology and fluidization and be able to address practical problems in these fields.
Main subjects taught in the course
- Fluidization and classification of particles
- Fluid bed designs -batch and continuous
- Formulation and process considerations
- Coating and agglomeration at particle level
- Scale-up of fluid bed systems
- Drying in fluid beds
- Moisture in air and powder
- Energy and mass balances
- Operational problems and how to solve them
Who should attend?
The course addresses specialists, executives, technicians, planners & plant designers working in the chemical, pharmaceutical, biotech and/or food industry with manufacture or development of particle products in batch or continuous fluid bed processes such as granulation, coating, agglomeration and/or drying.
Three day online course
The online course runs for three consecutive days with alternating presentations, exercises and plenum discussions. All course material is send in advance of the course.
The course is held online via an online conference tool in real-time allowing questions and discussions to facilitated in real-time.
There will be sufficient amount of breaks and time to ask questions in between the different sessions.
The course is held in English.
