Screening machines as sifters in sugar processing

Sugar - tailor-made to customer specifications

Sugar is usually offered in different particle sizes depending on sales requirements. The requirement: Fifteen different particle sizes
A customer approached RHEWUM with a request to offer fifteen different particle sizes for sugar products. The customer supplies a number of different sugar processing industries, including companies as diverse as beverage manufacturers and bakeries. RHEWUM was therefore asked to provide screening machines that could process the feed material in three stages from very fine classifications to rather coarser separations in the final stage.

Versatile high-performance machines

Machines of the RHEsono type were used for the fine separations. Here, a high-frequency beater bar movement discharges the screenings at right angles from the screen mesh - the inclination of the mesh enables the screenings to be transported over the screen. For the two stages with coarser separations, smaller machines of the RHEmoto type were used. Maintenance-free unbalanced motors located outside the screen housing transmit high-frequency vibrations via oscillating axes directly into the screen cloth. These high accelerations enable precise separations and allow the use of this machine type even with sticky materials. Thus, RHEWUM was able to meet the customer’s requirements by combining two machine types.

High precision, high throughput at screening of sugar
Sugar is among the most demanding screening materials. The RHEsono vibration screening machine by RHEWUM precisely separates sugar at high throughputs Sugar is among the most demanding screening materials. It draws moisture, tends to agglomerate and has abrasive properties. To achieve maximum precision in separation under these conditions, vibration screening machines with direct excitation of the screening mesh are a good choice. The RHEsono vibration screening machine utilizes magnetic vibrating heads to transfer motion impulses directly to the screening mesh. The impulse can be precisely adjusted to the properties of sugar. The screening mesh begins to vibrate, the sugar is deimpacted at a high frequency, agglomeration is reduced. To counter any clogging that might nevertheless occur, the RHEsono has an additional cleaning pulse which clears the screening mesh at regular intervals. This neither interrupts the screening process, nor does the pulse negatively affect separation precision. This technology allows the RHEsono to achieve highest precision in separation at high throughputs, in this case more than

Optimization a of sifter plant by customized modernization Direct excited screening machines from RHEWUM for sugar industry
Optimization a of sifter plant by customized modernization
Direct excited screening machines from RHEWUM for sugar industry A well-known European sugar producer was looking for new screening machines to replace his worn-out sizers. Since not only the old machines but also the building were affected, the new sifters should transfer as few vibrations as possible into the building and at the same time increase the efficiency of the screening process. So the decision was made for a machine with directly excited screen meshes. The existing sizers were designed for a throughput of 30 tons of refined sugar per hour with 5 separating cuts, whereas the required product quality for the lowest deck with a separating cut of 0.2 mm could not achieve the required product quality. To find a suitable replacement, trials were made in the technical center of RHEWUM, during which process-relevant parameters of the screening machine were determined and also the compliance with the permissible amount of off-spec particles for numerous sugar types was considered and proved. The results of machine types WA and

How to screen 300 tons of cane sugar per hour? RHEWUM high efficiency screening machines for sugar
How to screen 300 tons of cane sugar per hour?
RHEWUM high efficiency screening machines for sugar RHEWUM was faced with this task by the Indian Cane Power Limited (ICPL). For this purpose a screening plant with a combination of the type RHEWUM WA and RHEWUM WAU was delivered to India. The fed 300 tons per hour are precisely classified by only two RHEWUM sieves into the five required fractions of 1.80 mm/ 1.20 mm/ 0.80 mm/ 0.45 mm and 0.25 mm. The electromagnetic drive that is specific to RHEWUM is particularly used for the fine separations of less than 1 mm, whereas the low-maintenance WAU drive is used for separating fractions of 1.80 mm and 1.20 mm. The screening plant is loaded by two SV feeders that each evenly distribute 150 tons of cane sugar per hour on the post-positioned screening machine. The discerning customer chose a high quality stainless steel design. The ICPL was just founded in 2002 and has been growing since then from year to year thanks to the close collaboration with the local farmers, who provide the required sugar cane seeds. The plant
